Title: The Audacity to be Divine

Author: Judith Halbreich

Publisher: Austin Macauley

Date of Publishing: 30 June 2020

Length: 212 pages

ISBN-10: 1645363619

ISBN-13: 978-1645363613

Author Judith Halbreich writes a biography (The Audacity to be Divine) of her mother Mary Mrozowski, who was a spiritual teacher and founding member of the Contemplative Outreach, Ltd. She worked with some of the greatest spiritual minds of her times to advocate the advantages of Centring Prayer.

Book Review by WeLoveQualityBooks

To have a strong mother is the biggest gift a daughter can have. However, it is a bigger gift when a daughter witnesses her mother’s growth and success- the process of her becoming strong. From a woman in love; to a woman divorced, Mary saw it all. Disregarding the toughest times, she found the strength to pray. Then there was the darkest time of her life, when she was technically, not praying. However, her quest for the greater power never ceased. She questioned, observed, argued, imbibed, learnt and taught. Her generosity as a mother, a friend, a co-worker and a guide will never cease to amaze.

Incidentally, Mary also showed the typical human traits of vanity, remorse, anger, dominance, yet, through it all, she realized her weaknesses, accepting to learn to live with them. This in time became her biggest asset- her resilience. The Audacity to be Divine teaches us acceptance of one’s shortcomings. Even one’s misfortunes add to the sense of a strong self.

Author Judith Halbreich narrates her mother’s story in the first person. We hear Mary talk, feel, cry, smile and experience the greatest joys of becoming a grandmother and sharing her trust in God. The Audacity to be Divine talks about the courage it takes to follow a spiritual path in our world. It is about affirming the fact that not all people are spiritually inclined nor will everyone understand one’s sheer love for the divine. Yet again, faith is not blind. Only a person who can question can explore spirituality in the truest sense (the anecdote about a professor hits the bull’s eye). The biography has no prejudices- but is a picture of how Mary saw life, through the eyes of her daughter. The book begins with the eulogy of Fr Thomas Keating, and what a great introduction to the main character of the novel- Mary Mrozowski.

The author mentions how she toiled for years to make her mother’s biography a reality. And rightly so. Good things take time! From a daughter to her mother- here’s the biggest gift of all. WeLoveQualityBooks recommend The Audacity to be Divine to everyone who wants to understand the real meaning of life. You may take any path or choose any faith- but it all leads to one centring prayer- to be one with the Almighty.

Our verdict: There is only one rating that such a lovely book deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -5 stars!

Title: A to Z of Meshed Organization: Rebuild Organization Ab Initio

Author: Jolly J Sen

Date of Publishing: 23 August 2020

Number of pages: 128 pages

ASIN: B08GKY7YK5

A to Z of Meshed Organization: Rebuild Organization Ab Initio is a treasure of the author Jolly J Sen’s years of experience in the corporate sector.

He talks about several business solutions that can make firms ace their performance and productivity post-coronavirus lockdown. The 128-page-book has many practical ideas for businesses to implement. The tone of the work as well as the content is purely organizational. The many years of experience that author Jolly J Sen has in Operations plus Sales and Marketing is evident by his observations, which are practical as well as balanced.

His ideas and technique to re-skill the workforce to adapt to the changing business environment are hopeful. Some of the suggestions seem a little far-fetched, currently. However, India is a fast-developing economy and our technical know-how is our pride. Once some of these technical aspects are enhanced with research and customer feedback, we will have a good idea as to how modern business can incorporate these suggestions.

Author Jolly J Sen’s expertise is beyond doubt. His thoughtfulness to advance business organizations structurally and in turn, functionally is unquestionable. However, the effectiveness of all the ideas presented in A to Z of Meshed Organization: Rebuild Organization Ab Initio can be measured only over timeI would recommend the businesses, who wish to try out the suggestions, to probably begin with a small department with minimum collateral damage, check the effectiveness, tweak it to fit their organizational needs, re-evaluate the suggestion (customize them to the organization) and then proceed to implement it through-out.

Writing is a tough job. To pen down thoughtful course of action, takes conviction, hard work and good intentions- a perfect reason to give new ideas a try.

For the insights, suggestions and the altruistic intentions of A to Z of Meshed Organization: Rebuild Organization Ab Initio, we @WeLoveQualityBooks give author Jolly J Sen’s thoughtful endeavour -3.5 stars.

Back Cover- Taming the Shopping Bug

Author Marti McGinnis uses her experiences, personal insights, psychology and beautiful illustrations to gift the readers a creative wonder. As she says in the foreword, she made a New Year resolution in 2019 to control her shopping impulses, although she was not a shopaholic, just a recreational shopper.

Her 365-day journey to honour her new year resolution gave birth to the book, Taming the Shopping Bug: My Year of Minimalist Shopping.

Over the year, the author not only kept a tab on her shopping whims but roped in some people for a case study. That’s what makes the insights on Taming the Shopping Bug: My Year of Minimalist Shopping authentic.

The author didn’t make a resolution to live in penury. She just decided to shop for essentials with an occasional splurge. Her idea was to count her blessings, make most of what she had and buy things only when there was a real need for it. As a recreational shopper myself, who shopped for years on amazon.com when the shopping portal, Amazon didn’t even have its Indian version- amazon.in, it is really easy to understand where the author, Marti McGinnis is coming from.

In the COVID-19 era, it is difficult to go out and shop. For that matter, it is now impossible to binge on shopping because, every penny, every paisa, every peso and every dime count. The present time makes the book, Taming the Shopping Bug: My Year of Minimalist Shopping extremely valuable. The beautiful cartoons and illustrations add another plus. The book doesn’t become a heavy read, yet its message is effective. Why not learn while getting entertained? This creative form of learning is not only for children. Every adult has the same right- to learn, reflect and imbibe changes yet have fun doing that!

For the interesting, multi-cultural beauty of self-mastery over the most squandering bug called ‘shopping’, we @WeLoveQualityBooks give Taming the Shopping Bug: My Year of Minimalist Shopping by author Marti McGinnis ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – five stars.

Clothes play a huge role in women’s lives. As and when their mindset changes, so do the way they dress. Sometimes, the change is subtle while at other, more drastic. Therefore, women’s wardrobe is a peek into their immediate worlds. The name of the novel, A Dress the Color of the Sky symbolises the protagonist’s life preferences.

Book Review for The Avaha Order

Title: The Ahava Order

Author: Robert Przbylski

Date of Publishing: 16 June 2019

Publisher: Royal Hawaiian Press

Number of pages: 196 pages

ASIN: B07T442CVV

The Ahava Order by author Robert Przbylski is a fantasy adventure in a pseudo-medieval world.

The novel has all the mystical creatures you can think of and more. It is a dream work that will keep you engaged. What stood out was the fate of the vampires (we don’t want to reveal the plot, but it is beautiful).

Robert Przbylski has also introduced a variety of elixir in The Ahava Order. This is a very important concept for the idea of elixir can indeed be subjective. While some may need an elixir to become immortal, some need elixir for good health, for love and so on. The Ahava Order also brings out how good and bad influence changes our course of fate.

The novel connects rightly with our world and our times. Many instances are easily relatable. Unfortunately, the proper nouns used in the novel are tough to connect with and remember. It somehow alienates the readers to some extent. The second round of proofreading would make the plot of The Ahava Order tighter.

If you wish to read a novel with a different and fascinating take on a pseudo-medieval action fantasy, we @ WeLoveQualityBooks will recommend you to give The Ahava Order by author Robert Przbylski a read.

For an interesting read that is brimming with creativity, we @WeLoveQualityBooks gives The Ahava Order ⭐⭐⭐ – three stars.

Title: The Comedian

Author: Sean-Paul Thomas

Date of Publishing: 3 June 2019

Publisher: Paul Thomas Publishing; 1 edition

Number of pages: 79 pages

ASIN: B07SPDKVY1

The Comedian is a lovely novelette written by author Sean-Paul Thomas.

Like his other writings, author Sean-Paul Thomas creates an alluring take of a man who at his height of success and brink of reaching the autumn of his life. Then one day, he gets an opportunity to relive his past. He gets to understand the consequences of his choices and how his life could have panned out to be had he chosen differently.

Every person gets a chance to re-evaluate the choices they make in their lives, just like the protagonist. There are also times when we misunderstand people or circumstances, only because of our own complexes. The beauty of The Comedian is that it touches on these nuances of the human psyche while weaving an engaging story.

What stood out were the women characters of the novelette. Although the protagonist is a man, it is the strength of the women characters that give the story a push forward and offers it a decisive direction.

For a wonderful read, we @ WeLoveQualityBooks, give author Sean-Paul ThomasThe Comedian four sparkling stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Number of pages: 216 pages

The Resemblance is an action/thriller/drama by author Clarke Wainikka.

Louise and Danny Rickshaw are an unhappily married couple. Louise has a cordial relationship with her mom, Gloria and is closer to her sister, Joey.

Louise is a victim of domestic violence who finds a way to furtively begin a journey to find her lost confidence and self-respect.

While Louise tries to remodel her life into a fulfilling one, women in her vicinity start dying. Accidentally, Louise finds out that the victims resemble her!

WeLoveQualityBooks shares the Book Review for Resemblance by Clarke Wainikka

That is how the intrigue in the novel The Resemblance escalates.

As a reader, you try to unravel the mystery. You make guesses. Rest assured, the author Clarke Wainikka has the readers confused and engrossed.

The story of The Resemblance progresses smoothly. With every turn of the page, the book becomes more and more absorbing.

Author Clarke Wainikka closes all the ends of the novel. The author’s writing presents a strong woman who weathers all the storm to salvage her existence, not using the conventional methods.

Any human being who is or has been a victim of domestic violence must read this book. Sometimes we don’t understand the extent of what we are going through unless we see that happening to someone else. The graphic yet artistic description of all that Louise goes through makes author Clarke Wainikka’s writing a masterpiece.

No, don’t get me wrong! It takes a genius to describe the most gruesome circumstance or emotion with such a perfect metaphor that it somehow acts as a creative buffer to all the goriness around.

The Resemblance underlines the effect of childhood complexes, experiences, disappointments that shape a personality. The novel beautifully describes what draws some to self-destructive choices in live while there are others who can ignore their superego and succumb to the most animalistic instinct.

In a world where violence (physical, emotional and psychological) is on a rise, the novel will give the reader to question the existing nuances that drive everyday living.

For a beautiful, engrossing and artistically gorgeous novel, The Resemblance– we at WeLoveQualityBooks give author Clarke Wainikka’s realistic and captivating writing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -5 stars.

To write a book is always a great opportunity to connect with the readers. However, to write a book with a purpose to spread awareness among the readers is a huge responsibility.

Book Review by WeLoveQualityBooks
Book Review by WeLoveQualityBooks for EmpowerED by Jennifer Price

Author Jennifer Price through EmpowerEd (Using Real Case Examples To Look Deeper into IEP Management) has not only done a great job at educating the readers about learning difficulties in school-going children, but she has also shared case studies to elaborate on the issues and share the right course of action.

Every chapter of EmpowerEd ends with a few questions that help determine if the parents/caregiver have faced similar difficulties and how they can zero on the fact that their children need help.

The book EmpowerEd does not only mention about those children who have learning disabilities and need special attention but also about those students who excel at their area of interest and at school even with the learning disability/ difficulty.

It is imperative for parents, caregivers, teachers, school administration and the education department to appreciate how every student is different and how important it is it deals with each problem with a case by case perspective.

Individualised Education Programme is an important concept. It is an effective method to spread effective education among children. However, there are many parents who do now recognize if their children need special IEP. There are parents who do understand the need, but they don’t know how to get their children the much-needed attention.

Author Jennifer Price has addressed many telltale signs and how to ensure that parents/caregivers get their children the best possible academic help through the book EmpowerEd.

It is amazing to see how much America cares about providing the best possible and effective education for young citizens. I hope other developing countries also get inspired by EmpowerEd by Jennifer Price and overhaul the education system in their countries.

Only education can carve a successful next generation. EmpowerEd by Jennifer Price is an eye-opener. For such a valuable contribution to society, we at WeLoveQualityBooks give EmpowerEd (Using Real Case Examples To Look Deeper into IEP Management) by Jennifer Price, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- 5 Stars!

No Entry is a Young Adult Novel written by Gila Green.

The story is set in South Africa and the Kruger National Park. The protagonist, Yael Amar finds difficult to cope with a traumatic experience. To divert herself from the never-ending pain, brave Yael takes up a course in forest conservation that brings her to South Africa and Kruger National Park.

Yael shows grit and determination to win over challenges. She makes some friends in the process and has a life altering experience.

Her fascination with elephants only multiplies during the trip and she finds her calling by the end of the novel.

No Entry by Gila Green- back cover
No Entry by Gila Green- back cover

Author Gila Green chalks out genuine and identifiable characters in the novel, No Entry. She beautifully expresses angst and longing that most young adults deal with everyday. Some teens and young adults deal with over protective parents while there are those who deal with over indulging parents. Then there are those whose parents strike the right balance.

Through the book No Entry, author Gila Green has described how different styles of parenting shape children differently and why what might work with one child might not work with another. The book also describes young love and its transitions perfectly.

What touched the most was the issue with elephant poaching. Gila Green’s words and their imagery tears the heart out. The words, although subtle, leave a lasting impression.

By the end of No Entry author Gila Green will convert all her readers into elephants lovers, if not wildlife conservationists. The author’s narrative about elephant poaching is convincing, touching and heartbreaking. The problems that genuine conservationists face is also realistically expressed.

As an animal lover, I thoroughly enjoyed reading No Entry. There are some heartwarming scenes between Yael and a baby elephant (no, you have to read the novel to know her name) that made me envy the protagonist.

The plot is great and the treatment of the characters is perfect. The plight of the locals who live around forest reservations is also touched upon. The climax of No Entry however, could have been tighter although the climax doesn’t affect the element of surprise that author Gila Green skilfully creates in the novel.

No Entry is a must read for all young adults, adults, nature lovers, animal lovers, elephants conservationists, wildlife conservationists and anyone who likes to read a novel that will transform the way you think.

For such a lovely book that celebrates bravery, compassion and of course the love of the wild, especially elephants ?, WeLoveQualityBooks gives the novel No Entry by Gila Green 4.5 Stars!
